Afghan Women Writers is a free-of-judgment platform for Afghan women and girls to write and tell their extraordinary stories. AWW highlights Afghan women who want to share their opinions, ideas, suggestions and poetry, according to the topic of their choice, and publish them on our website.

Afghan Women Writers is a forum for essays, journalism and digital media of interest to the Afghan and international communities.

The right to write! AWW works to improve education and literacy for women and facilitates them to speak their minds in their own words, in their own way without fear. They can advocate for themselves or for others for their rights and equality through writing.

Without Afghan women’s fully participation, their stories cannot be told accurately. Very often, Afghan women’s stories are told by Afghan men, foreign men, and foreign women. It is time for Afghan women to take the lead for telling their stories.

Maya Angelou once said that “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
